HSS TiAlN counterbore with three cutting edges
The BMMTOOLS 1812 series three-flute countersink is made from HSS and features a TiAlN coating. The tool has a cylindrical shank, a 90° cutting angle and a C-shaped cutting edge.
The geometry, compliant with DIN 335, enables the creation of conical countersinks after a hole has been pre-drilled. The sharp tip guides the tool along the centreline of the hole, whilst the three cutting edges form a surface suitable for 90° conical head screws, including those to DIN 7991.
The TiAlN coating is a feature of the 1812 series. The diameter of the countersink should be selected to match the intended socket dimension, and the machining depth should be monitored during operation.
