HSS-Co5 cobalt counterbore for 90° holes
The BMMTOOLS 1802 series countersink is made from HSS-Co5 high-speed steel. It is a 3-fluted tool with a cylindrical shank and a 90° cutting angle, in accordance with DIN 335.
The tool is used after the hole has been drilled. The conical working part creates a countersink for seating a bolt or screw with a 90° conical head, including DIN 7991 bolts. The sharp tip is aligned with the centre of the hole, ensuring that the countersink remains conical, without a flat bottom.
The three cutting edges are used to machine the entrance to the hole and remove burrs. In the BMMTOOLS catalogue, the 1802 series is recommended for machining stainless steel, acid-resistant steel and heat-resistant steel. [web:29]
