HSS-Co5 TiAlN-coated countersink for 90° conical recesses, deburring and finishing pre-drilled holes.
HSS-Co5 TiAlN 90° cobalt countersink
The BMMTOOLS 1822 series comprises 3-edged conical countersinks made from HSS-Co5 and coated with TiAlN. The tool has a cylindrical shank, a 90° cutting angle and complies with DIN 335.
The countersink is used after a pilot hole has been drilled. The sharp tip aligns the working part with the centre of the hole, whilst the three cutting edges create a conical surface for screw and bolt heads at a 90° angle, including those to DIN 7991. The design can also be used to remove burrs from the edge of the hole.
The combination of HSS-Co5 material and a TiAlN coating clearly distinguishes the 1822 series from HSS and HSS-Co5 variants. The manufacturer specifies a hardness of approximately 3000 HV and a low coefficient of friction for the TiAlN coating. [web:34]

Application
- For making recesses for 90° conical heads.

Tip: start work after drilling a pilot hole. Select the diameter to match the size of the socket for the head, maintain axial guidance and monitor the depth of the countersink.
