Product description
The hex head bolt complying with DIN 931, now also referred to as PN-EN ISO 4014, is a steel fastener with a partial thread. It is used to create permanent, detachable bolted joints using nuts and — depending on the application — washers.
The bolt is manufactured to strength class 8.8 and is therefore intended for connections requiring higher load-bearing capacity and mechanical resistance than standard fasteners. The zinc coating reduces the risk of corrosion under typical storage, workshop and industrial conditions.
The thread runs only along part of the shank’s length. The smooth part of the bolt can act as a guide for the components being joined, which is particularly useful in steel structures, machinery, equipment and assembly joints. The product is available in sizes from M6 to M30.

Length of the threaded portion b:
- b1 applies to bolts with a total length l ≤ 125 mm
- b2 is used for bolts with a total length of 125 mm < l ≤ 200 mm
- b3 applies to bolts with a total length l > 200 mm
All dimensions are given in millimetres. S denotes the spanner size, k the head height, and b the length of the threaded portion. The correct valueof b1,b2 orb3 must be selected according to the total length of the bolt, l.

Before assembly, check that the screw’s diameter and thread pitch are compatible with the nut being used, select an appropriate length for the thickness of the components to be joined, and take into account the environmental operating conditions. In the event of exposure to high levels of moisture, chemicals or outdoor conditions, it is worth considering components with enhanced corrosion resistance.
