HSS countersink with cylindrical shank for creating recesses for 90° conical heads and for deburring pre-drilled holes.
HSS conical countersink for hole finishing
The BMMTOOLS countersink from the 1801 series has three cutting edges, a cylindrical shank and a 90° cutting angle. The design, in accordance with DIN 335, is used to create a conical countersink in a hole previously prepared with a drill bit.
The 90° countersink allows the preparation of a recess for countersunk-head screws, including DIN 7991 screws. The sharp tip of the tool guides the countersink along the centre line of the existing hole, whilst the three cutting edges machine the entrance and remove burrs.
The HSS variant is the high-speed steel version. When selecting a countersink, compare its diameter with the target socket diameter and check that the head of the screw being used has a 90° angle.
