Partially threaded bolt | Strength class 8.8 | Zinc coating | Available diameters M6–M30
The hexagon head bolt conforming to DIN 931, now also referred to as PN-EN ISO 4014, is a steel fastener with a partial thread. It is used to create permanent, detachable bolted joints using nuts and — depending on the application — washers.
The bolt is manufactured to strength class 8.8 and is therefore intended for connections requiring higher load-bearing capacity and mechanical resistance than standard fasteners. The zinc coating reduces the risk of corrosion under typical storage, workshop and industrial conditions.
The thread runs only along part of the shank’s length. The smooth section of the bolt can act as a guide for the joined components, which is particularly useful in steel structures, machinery, equipment and assembly joints. The product is available in sizes ranging from M6 to M30.

All dimensions are given in millimetres. S denotes the wrench size, k the head height, and b the length of the threaded portion. The appropriate valueof b1,b2 orb3 must be selected according to the total length of the bolt, l.
Before assembly, check that the screw’s diameter and thread pitch are compatible with the nut being used, select the appropriate length for the thickness of the components being joined, and take into account the operating environmental conditions. In the event of exposure to high levels of moisture, chemicals or outdoor conditions, it is worth considering components with enhanced corrosion resistance.
